"Rheology of Biomaterials"

Scope of the meeting:

The rheology of biomaterials as found in food, pharmaceutics and health care becomes more and more important when focusing on the life science aspects of such materials. Within the 2001 Meeting of the Swiss Group of Rheology invited speaker from both academic and industrial backgrounds will discuss the scientific and technological aspects of this intriguing area in rheology.

Scientific program:

The program will start at 10 a.m. and consist of three plenary and three additional presentations in the field of rheology and life science given by speakers from industry and academia. The General Assembly of the Swiss Group of Rheology / Swiss Polymer Group (PGS) will follow after the scientific program.

The plenary lectures will be given by

  • Gerald G. Fuller (Stanford University)
  • P.R. Williams (University of Wales)
  • P. Schurtenberger (University of Fribourg)

An open poster session will be proposed for everybody attending the meeting. All those intending to participate are encouraged to submit a short abstract (max. 300 words) for this poster presentation.

Meeting Language

The Conference Language is English. Posters in German or French will be accepted.

Registration Fees:

PGS members CHF. 50.-
Non Members CHF. 110.-
Student CHF. 30.-

The registration fee includes membership of the Swiss Polymer Group (PGS) for one year. Lunch buffet will be provided and is included in the registration fee.
